As the third largest European economy, it presents significant opportunities for Munster businesses to take advantage of the key industries for growth such as medical technology, financial services and agricultural technology and engineering.

Commenting following the event, CEO of Kerry based company, Tricel and today’s Keynote Speaker, Michael Stack said, “From our beginnings as a small fibreglass company right up to becoming an established exporter, we have always been keen to seek out new avenues to build scale and expand our reach.

“Market trends strongly indicate that there are very many existing businesses across the Munster region that can achieve export success in Eurozone markets beyond the UK, and that can benefit from taking the step.

“Tricel’s experience overseas demonstrates that the obstacles to entering the French market can be successfully overcome and I would encourage any of those examining the prospect of diversifying their export strategy, to look to France. “

Enterprise Ireland Regional Director in the Eurozone, Anne Lanigan added, “The main aim of today’s event is to challenge any myths which could be deterring ambitious Irish companies from expanding their reach in growing Eurozone markets such as France.

“Throughout this morning’s knowledge exchange sessions, market experts and Enterprise Ireland clients who are already experiencing success in France, shared their insight into what next steps to take when entering the French market.

“France is just one of the Eurozone’s flourishing export markets that present valuable opportunities for companies. Not only is France a growing global hub for engineering but it can also be a very significant and lucrative market for innovative, leading-edge Irish companies.

“Irish companies that are best positioned to win in France tend to be in Agritech, MedTech, Pharma, Construction, Digital Technologies or Financial Services – industries well represented among Irish exporters.

“Enterprise Ireland’s message is clear – leverage our full range of supports and export, in-market advice to take your business abroad.”
