Shop Local a video by Tipp Tatler

At the Tipp Tatler we always promote supporting local business. Over the weekend we decided that, coming up towards Christmas in Tipperary, that we would produce a little video to help illustrate how money spent locally circulates throughout the community. We hope you enjoy the video and hope it might encourage you to try and shop locally whenever possible.

Supporting local business and independent retailers is vital for the local economy. When you spend money with a locally owned business more money is kept in the community because locally owned businesses purchase more from other local businesses, tradesmen/women and other service providers. Local business owners also donate more to local charities, sporting organisations, clubs etc. All of this helps sustain a vibrant local community.

We would like to thank the local business people in Borrisoleigh who took part in making the video. They all agreed straight away and without much warning 🙂 If we had more time we could have included a lot more who we have no doubt would have willingly taken part. Anyhow thanks to Shanahan’s Centra, Joey O Dwyer’s Butchers, Mary’s Hair Salon, O’Connell’s Pharmacy and Walsh’s Costcutter, and of course to local legend Noreen O Donnell (aka Ma)
