Facebook Christmas Eve Storytime Event Hosted By Nenagh Library
Nenagh Library have organised a very special Christmas Eve event for the boys and girls all over the county who will be waiting patiently for Santa Claus’ visit. This event will be a story time session held on Facebook where the children can listen to some fantastic Christmas fairy tales. The books that will be read to the children include ‘Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson, ‘The Happiest Man in the World’ by Mij Kelly and Santa’s on His Way: A Changing Picture Book’ by Ruth Martin.
Stick Man tells the story of the life of Stick Man who after a run in with a dog on a walk one morning must find his way home. This long journey leads him to new friends who must help him to get to his family tree before Christmas time. Written by Julia Donaldson with drawings by Alex Scheffler this book tells the dramatic tale of one stick man and his quest to get home to his stick wife and stick children for the holidays.
The Happiest Man in the World follows a lonely little mouse who lives in a house all by herself. Her life is suddenly changed when a miserable old man moves into the house with her. The mouse learns valuable lessons about happiness from her mysterious housemate as she tries desperately to cheer him up. As she does this, she finally realises the real identity of her co-inhabitant. This story of a mouse’s realisation of what it means to be happy is illustrated by Louise Nisbet.
The final book on the agenda for the Christmas Eve Online Storytime is Santa’s on His Way: A Changing Picture Book’. This book, written by Ruth Martin, focuses on Santa preparing to travel around the world to visit all the boys and girls and bring them the presents they asked for in their letters. This journey is very important, and Santa must make sure he has all his jobs completed before he takes flight from the North Pole. Illustrated by Sophy Williams, this book perfectly captures the anticipation we feel for Christmas and the building excitement for the big day.
This event will begin at 6:30pm and you will be able to join in by searching for Nenagh Library on Facebook. This event will be free to attend.
