Reopening of Farm Safety Measure A Positive Move

IFA Farm Family and Social Affairs chair Teresa Roche has welcomed the reopening of the Farm Safety Measure which was announced by Minister Martin Heydon.  

Speaking about the reintroduction of the measure she said: “With Farm Safety Week ongoing, the announcement today by the Minister is a positive step towards reducing danger on farms.” “I strongly encourage farmers to avail of this National Farm Safety Measure and urge all farmers to purchase and use farm safety equipment, which will protect you from serious and fatal injuries,” she added. 

The National Farm Safety Measure 2024 will provide a financial contribution to farmers for a maximum of 4 PTO shaft covers. This will be granted at a rate of 60% subject to a maximum cost of €100 per cover. Farmers who applied for the grant in 2023 will be also eligible to avail of the grant this year.
