High-Octane Thriller ‘Drive’ screens at Nenagh Arts Centre, Thurday 24th
Nenagh Arts Centre screens the American film thriller ‘Drive’ which won the best director award for Nicolas Winding Refn at the Cannes Film Festival, on Thursday 24th May at 8 p.m.
Starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan the film has already been labelled as a classic. Its story tells us of a tough, tactiturn hero, a Hollywood stuntman by day and getaway driver by night who gets mixed up in a love affair with his neighbour, a mother whose husband is in prison. Needless to say the relationship has serious repercussions for him. In its broadest outlines, Drive is seems like just another modern neo-noir with Gosling’s character caught in a
moral conundrum with some very bad men. However the propulsive nature of the film and the twists and turns of the storyline, will leave the viewer in no doubt that this is a visceral entertainment of the highest order.
Tickets priced at €7 are online at www.nenagharts.com or at the door on the night. ‘Drive’ is presented on the big screen with cinema sound at the Arts Centre.
