Three Ireland have announced TikTok sensation Robert Grace as the first brand ambassador for City Stages 2025. The announcement coincides with Three City Stages moving from the streets to screens and stages, offering emerging musicians the opportunity to perform live at Electric Picnic, Irelands biggest music and arts festival. Participants can audition to take part in City Stages from anywhere via TikTok, making it easier than ever to get discovered.
City Stages has become a game-changing platform in Ireland’s music scene, taking grassroots artists from busking spots to national stages. Through live performances in top venues, and career-making support slots for internationally acclaimed artists, City Stages has opened doors for emerging musicians in ways never seen before.
Now, City Stages is evolving – removing barriers to entry and embracing the power of digital discovery. With auditions exclusively on TikTok, more artists than ever can take part, from bedroom producers and indie bands to hip-hop acts and trad musicians. Every entrant will gain access to exclusive music industry masterclasses led by Robert Grace, an Irish viral TikTok sensation who has amassed billions of streams and millions of fans for his alt-pop hits, Robert will join other top industry professionals covering topics including artist management, booking gigs, growing a fanbase, and breaking into the media.
Robert says: “I’ve seen how City Stages has been championing artists over the past few years, and it is a privilege to now be a mentor for the new wave of incredible artists submitting their music. I’ve introduced my music to so many people not only in Ireland but across the world and I’ve learned a few tricks on the way, so I am excited to share them with applicants.”
Since its launch in 2022, City Stages artists have set the standard, playing iconic settings like 3Olympia and Electric Picnic, laying the foundation for what promises to be an exciting musical career. Tia Burke, the first-ever City Stages support act, shared the 3Olympia stage with Self Esteem in 2023. Just a year later, City Stages performers Rachel Grace, Gemma Cox, Dawna and Jamie McIntyre were touring Europe with Gavin James, while the Three City Stage Collective brought their sound to Electric Picnic over the past two years, working alongside Imelda May, Cian Ducrot and renowned producer Cian Boylan.
“City Stages has already changed the game for emerging Irish artists,” said Tanya Townsend, Senior Sponsorship and Brand Activation Manager at Three Ireland. “Now, we’re taking it one step further giving successful winners a chance to perform live at Electric Picnic. TikTok is where today’s music discovery happens, and by moving City Stages online, we’re breaking down the barriers of location and access – making it easier for every musician in Ireland to move one step closer to their dream of performing at EP!”
