Relay for Life 2012 Launched
Relay for Life Tipperary2012 was launched by Trevor Hogan, former Munster, Leinster and Irelandrugby international last Wednesday evening in Nenagh. Launching the event which will be held in Toomevara GAA grounds on 25/26August, commended Relay for bringing communities together in the fight against cancer. Reflecting on his sporting career, he said that what defines success in sport is not so much the number of caps or medals won, but how one digs deep and shows determination when the going gets tough. And he said that these are the values that Relay is supporting in people when facing the terrible ordeal of cancer, and is promoting in communities throughout the country.
Last year’s Tipperary Relay was the largest Relay event in Irelandlast year with upwards of 1,000 participants, and it is expected that this year’s event will be even bigger. Anybody interested in getting involved or entering a team is encouraged to do so early as places are limited. They can do so by going to www.relayforlife.ie or by emailing tipprelayteam@live.com
