Also taking the podium is Lorna Sixsmith a social media success story. Lorna is an interior designer and owns and runs Garrendenny Lane. Lorna has used various social media platforms during the last three years since setting up Garrendenny Lane Interiors, an online home, gift and accessories shop. She has recently launched Write on Track, blog writing and coaching service, to help other SMEs raise the online profile of their businesses and drive more traffic to their websites.
According to Lorna her the results from her social media efforts have hugely improved her business profile, “I enjoy using social media so I don’t consider it to be ‘work’. I would probably write blog posts even if I didn’t get any results from them but while offline PR and the occasional paid advertisement certainly keeps my profile alive and well and help brand awareness, I feel that the improved SEO, increased number of links, and general awareness online is much more effective than offline marketing. I would suggest that businesses should not concentrate on just offline or online but use both.” Lorna said.
Paula Ronan of Angel Marketing will also take to the podium at the Web pow Wow. Paula runs Angel Marketing, based in New Ross and serving clients nationally and across the South East, including DoneDeal and Wexford Creamery. Paula was named Marketing Professional of the Year 2011 at the South East Marketing Awards.
Commenting on the upcoming event Chairperson of MII Southeast Dennis Harris said, “The entrepreneurs featuring at the Web Pow Wow are excellent speakers who have built up hugely successful brands in very different ways. There will certainly be something for everyone to take away from this event.
The event is open to the wider business community and not just members of MII or those in the marketing sphere. We would like to welcome everyone to join us in New Ross on March 9.” Dennis concluded.
Tickets for the Web Pow Wow in The Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, Co. Wexford include a light breakfast and are available from www.mii.ie or at the door for €15. The event commences at 8am.
