Tipperary’s Catherine Fogarty to host the EirGrid Energy Citizens Roadshow in Cashel
EirGrid, the operator and developer of the national electricity grid, is set to bring its Energy Citizens Roadshow to Tipperary next week.
This free event will bring together experts from EirGrid, SEAI (Ireland’s national sustainable energy authority), ESB Networks and Tipperary County Council to provide information about home energy efficiency upgrades, retrofitting grants, community micro-generation schemes and initiatives to ensure a more sustainable future for Tipperary.

Those attending the EirGrid Energy Citizens Roadshow in Cashel can speak to a host of exhibitors on the day.
Leading the evening’s proceedings will be local Tipperary broadcaster Catherine Fogarty, of Tipp Mid-West Radio. The Moycarkey native will lead an in-depth panel discussion on Ireland’s energy future and facilitate questions from attendees. In addition, stalls from local exhibitors will also be in attendance, showcasing the latest information about home renewable energy upgrades, heat pumps and solar energy for homes and agriculture.
The roadshow will take place at Halla Na Féile in Cashel with refreshments from 6.15pm and the panel discussion kicking off from 7 to 8.30pm on Wednesday, March 5th .
Speaking ahead of the event, Sinead Dooley, Head of Public Engagement with EirGrid said, “We are delighted to have Catherine on board to MC our roadshow in Cashel. This event aims to give the people of Tipperary an opportunity to hear about the strides being made to support a sustainable economy and growing communities across the county, by developing and strengthening the electricity grid. We look forward to the event and meeting with industry leaders, community representatives and attendees to share knowledge in working towards achieving our energy and climate goals.”

EirGrid
EirGrid is responsible for a safe, secure and reliable supply of electricity: now, and in the future and manages the grid so that everyone has power when and where they need it.
To do this, EirGrid forecasts when and where electricity is needed across Ireland: hour-to-hour, day-to-day, and year-to-year. It works to ensure there is enough electricity for industry to prosper, and for employment to grow.
The grid takes electricity from where it is generated and delivers it to the distribution network, operated by ESB, which powers every home, business, school, hospital, factory, and farm on the island.
