New Bank of Ireland Analysis Of Customer Behaviour Reveals Online Banking Trends
Bank of Ireland have released analysis of online shoppers’ behaviour between the 14th and the 24th of December. This data has shown that the 19th of December 2024 had a higher number of digital bankers logging in than any other peak holiday time of the year. In addition to this 2024’s peak login figure was 4% higher than that of the previous December. The increase in digital transactions and online banking was contrasted by the 12% fall in ATM transactions seen in December 2024 from the 14th to the 24th compared to the same period in 2023.
Speaking about the trends in online banking seen during this period, Ciarán Coyle, Group Chief Operating Officer at Bank of Ireland said: “As demonstrated by these latest figures consumers really value the speed of digital banking, especially during particularly busy holiday and shopping periods. We pair that digital service with telephone and branch options for more complex matters or bigger decisions. Being able to bank from anywhere – home, office, or on the move – is one of the greatest benefits of digital banking and that’s why we are focused on continuing to invest in and enhance our digital banking services.”
