Whistle Blast Quartet’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ At The Source Arts Centre
The Whistle Blast Quartet are coming to the Source Arts Centre to perform their original version of Charles Dicken’s ‘A Christmas Carol’. The classic story will be retold using music from the past, present and future including tunes from Slade, Vivaldi and The Snowman as well as many other well-known songs.
The music will be played on a range of instruments from pianos and violins to clarinets, saxes and French horns. Audience involvement will also be encouraged with percussion instruments to join in the grand finale.
A Christmas Carol follows the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserable old man who sits alone in his house on Christmas Eve and refuses to be involved in any form of festive cheer and charity going on outside. Falling into a deep sleep, he is forced to look inwardly at his bad attitude when he is visited by three ghosts, the ghost of Christmas past, the ghost of Christmas present and the ghost of Christmas yet to come. Through their visits these spirits each teach him lessons about treating people with kindness and decency.
This show is suitable for children up to 12 years of age and adults. Two performances will be held on Wednesday the 11th of December at 11:30am and 6:30pm. Tickets are priced at €8 for adults and €5 for under 16s. These are available to purchase through the Source Arts Centre website or by calling 0504 90204
