The Science of DNA and Fingerprinting with Dr. Cas Kramer in Clonmel Library

science of dna and fingerprinting DNA is the biological building blocks of the human body. Essentially it makes us who we are in a biological sense from our eye and hair colouration to more unusual traits like pain tolerance levels or the ability to roll your tongue.

Honourary Associate Professor at the University of Leicester Dr. Cas Kramer will explore these traits as well as the many uses of DNA testing in criminology and genealogy during his talk at Clonmel Library as part of their Science Week events. He will also discuss how Fingerprinting, DNA analysis and the study of Genetics have had on historical research and criminal proceedings. Audiences will gain insights into the impact of DNA studies as well as learning about their own DNA, discovering how certain traits are passed on through generations of DNA.

This talk will be free to attend and will be held on Wednesday the 13th of November at 6pm. For more information email clonmellibrary@tipperarycoco.ie or call 052 6166130
