Tipperary County Council Form Partnership with WEEE Ireland to Provide Free Electrical Waste Collection Points
WEEE Ireland (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling Ireland) and Tipperary County Council have teamed up to provide free collection days for people across the county to dispose of their old batteries, electronic devices and old electrical appliances.
Any products that contain a battery or have a cable will be accepted at one of three recycling collection points. Electrical tools, TV’s, electronic toys, phones, and all forms of batteries are included in the products that are being accepted for recycling. Many of these products will be reprocessed to be reused in the manufacturing in Ireland and Europe.
The aim of this free collection is to prevent as much electronic and electrical waste as possible from entering areas of landfill thus protecting the environment from hazardous materials which may be present. In this way These hazardous materials can be disposed of in the correct manner and anything that can be salvaged can be repurposed to continue in the circular economy.
The following collection points in Tipperary will be accepting electronic and electrical goods from the 19th of October to the 2nd of November. Details are listed below:
