Tipperary Receives Funding of €184,809 Across 3 Organisations Under CLÁR Programme
Heather Humphreys, Minister for Rural and Community development has declared that further funding of €2.1 million is being rolled out for Measure 2 of the 2024 CLÁR Programme.
Measure 2 of this programme relates to funding for transport of cancer patients, those with mobility issues, meals on wheels vehicles and transport for first responders. The funding of €2,100,768 will be provided to rural communities across Ireland to purchase 48 vehicles.
Speaking about the projects approved for this funding, Minister Humphreys said:
“I am very pleased to be supporting these vital services in our most remote rural communities right across the country. Each of the recipients of funding today plays a vital role in providing essential services to those who are most in need in our communities, be it from a mobility aspect or through the provision of meals on wheels services.
The supports provided by our First Responders and our Search and Rescue teams are of immense importance and I am delighted to be in a position to support these very worthy community groups today. We owe a great deal to these organisations and to all the individuals who volunteer with them.”
In Tipperary, three organisations have been approved for funding for the purchase of a vehicle. These organisations and the funding they have received are listed below:

The Minister for Rural and Community Development concluded by commenting on the success of the programme since it was first introduced saying:
“This year I have approved the purchase of 48 vehicles for organisations right across the country under Measure 2 of the CLÁR programme. This is the highest number of vehicles ever funded through the programme and the announcement today brings the number of vehicles delivered under this measure to over 200 since it was introduced in 2018, with associated funding of over €10 million.”
