The Source Arts Centre Presents Debbie Godsell’s ‘Flail’

Harvest Time

This Saturday, September 14th, at 2pm The Source Arts Centre is unveiling a new exhibition by Debbie Godsell entitled ‘Flail’.

The exhibition is based around the harvest time and uses this as a foundation to delve into ancient Irish traditions, customs and history. The exhibition conveys the rich history of the harvest time which is synonymous with some of Ireland’s most fabled folklore as well as being the stem of many of the country’s most infamous historical events for example The Great Famine.  Through the mediums of film, printmaking and digital photography this exhibition creates a narrative and explores our understanding of themes such as identity, nationality and belonging.

This new interpretation of Irish customs and culture as we know them is free for everyone to attend and will be open to the public from September 14th to October 19th.
