Cabragh Wetlands Hosts ‘Biodiversity and Climate Action’ Workshop

Tipperary County Council in partnership with the Cabragh Wetlands are hosting a day course on planting to encourage biodiversity in your garden. The course will be held on Saturday, September 14th from 10am to 4pm in the Wetlands and will be facilitated by environmentalist and horticulturist Aoife Munn. 

This ‘Biodiversity and Climate Action Workshop’ will combine indoor and outdoor activities covering a range of subjects relating to enhancing your garden for nature and biodiversity while providing you with the skills to become a better gardener for the future of the natural world.  

Topics covered during this six-hour course will include low maintenance planting for biodiversity, new planting techniques, planting combinations for the seasons, growing your own fruit trees and veg, dealing with rainwater locally using naturally based solutions, creating a more circular economy, waste management and reduction, composting and more.  

Lunch will be provided on the day along with teas and coffees, but you must bring your own reusable mug/ keep cup.  

This free gardening course offers an opportunity to learn how to support biodiversity in your garden in a sustainable manner and would be perfect for anyone looking to explore ways of reducing the impact of climate change.
