Renewable Fuels Week Announced with HVO Price Matched to Diesel from 15th to 21st July

Refuelling with MilesBIO

Ireland’s leading fuel and convenience retailer, Circle K has announced the launch of ‘Circle K Renewable Fuels Week – powered by milesBIO. This limited one-week special offer is designed to promote the adoption of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil as a sustainable substitute for diesel fuel.

‘Circle K Renewable Fuels Week’ will run from July 15th – 21st and for this week only Circle K will offer milesBIO at an equal rate to that of diesel across all of its participating locations. This will allow customers to experience the benefits of using HVO fuel without any cost implications and facilitate a smoother transition to sustainable fuel.

Since November 2022 Circle K have themselves been using HVO saving 14,000 of CO2. HVO is completely fossil fuel free and is made using waste by – products from the food industry that could not otherwise be consumed by humans. HVO alternative fuel releases up to 90% less emissions than regular diesel fuel.

Companies such as Irish Rail, Derry Group Ireland, McCulla Ireland and Alltrans have partnered with Circle K to introduce this carbon neutral fuel to their operations and reduce emissions across their respective fields.

Speaking about the initiative, Ciara Foxton, Managing Director of Circle K Ireland said:

“We are excited to offer Circle K Renewable Fuels Week to support our customers. This special promotion underscores our commitment to sustainability and helping businesses to make environmentally responsible choices without additional cost.

“With our extensive network, and this limited-time price match offer, we are making it more accessible for businesses to make the switch to renewable fuels to support their own sustainability journeys.

“Since November 2022, our entire fleet has been running on HVO, resulting in the saving of approximately 14,000 tonnes of CO2. This reduction is equivalent to taking 5,000 cars off the road for a year*. During ‘Renewable Fuels Week’ kicking off on July 15th, we estimate an additional 500 tonnes of CO2 will be saved during the campaign week alone, representing a significant step in our journey to create a more sustainable environment.”
