25 groups in County Tipperary receiving grant assistance of €750,000 from the Community Climate Action Fund

Climate Action Fund Announcement

Maire O’Donnell (Community Climate Action Officer), Cllr Declan Burgess Tipperary County Council Cathaoirleach and Clare Lee (Climate Action Coordinator) officially announcing the approval

Tipperary County Council has received approval from the Minister of the Environment, Climate and Communications to allocate €750,000 grant assistance to 25 projects across Tipperary under the Community Climate Action Fund.

On the announcement of the provision of this funding and the announcement of successful applications, Cllr Declan Burgess, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council said:  

“There was huge interest in the funding Call within County Tipperary, the Council received 82 applications with total project costs in excess of four times the funding available and undertook a rigorous assessment process with each application received being examined in detail.” “I am delighted to see so many local voluntary community groups taking part in this programme for climate action. Building low carbon communities is a very positive step for our county in reaching our ambitious targets that were set out in our recently adopted Tipperary County Council Climate Action Plan 2024 – 2029”, stated Cllr. Declan Burgess
