Mater Hospital Foundation calling everyone in Tipperary to take part in ‘Marilyn’s Mater Paddle’

Marilyn Monroe look alikes - Marilyn's Mater Paddle
The Mater Hospital Foundation is calling everyone in Tipperary to attend its inaugural Marilyn’s Mater Paddle.

“The event is set to take place on the Bray South Promenade Beach on Sunday, 4th August. The event promises to be the largest gathering of Marilyn lookalikes Ireland has ever seen, with proceeds raised from ticket sales and fundraising going to support women’s cancer care at the Mater Public Hospital.

Get ready to channel your inner 1950s Hollywood icon and join people from all over the country in this fun-filled event. Participants will gather on Bray South Promenade Beach, transforming into a stunning sea of Marilyns. Whether you choose to dip your toes in the sea or simply enjoy the event on the beach, Marilyn’s Mater Paddle promises to be a memorable celebration of glamour and fun. Will you ‘boop boop be do’ it for women’s cancer care?”

“After the paddle and ‘Marilyn Mixer’ post-paddle gathering, stay and enjoy everything Bray has to offer, from the funfair to the holiday atmosphere. Each guy or gal who signs up will receive a fabulous pack including a blonde bombshell wig, retro red heart-shaped glasses and a beach-ball. Don some glamorous red lipstick and a retro swimsuit or 1950s swing dress to complete the look!

The funds raised from Marilyn’s Mater Paddle will go to support women’s cancer care in the Mater Public Hospital. Generous support has helped fund vital projects such as a new mammogram and a state-of-the-art PET/CT scanner. Funds raised at this new event will ensure that the Mater Hospital Foundation can continue to put funds to work in the hospital where they are needed most to support women on their cancer journey.”

“Grace Mongey Gernon, who posed as launch Marilyn says, “I am delighted to support Marilyn’s Mater Paddle, which will make a real difference for women’s cancer care in the Mater Hospital. If the launch photoshoot is anything to go by, the day itself is set to be fantastic fun and an event with a real twist for every who takes part – women and men alike!”
