Tipperary PPN launch their new website
Tipperary PPN are delighted to announce the launch of their new website www.ppntipperary.ie
The Tipperary PPN (Public Participation Network) is a collective of all the community, voluntary, social inclusion, and environmental groups in Tipperary. It was established in 2014, following the Local Government and reform act 2014. It has nearly 1000 members and a reach of over 2000 contacts when we send correspondence from our database. The PPN provides an opportunity for the community voice to be represented on Tipperary County Council Committees and various other boards and committees throughout the County structure. The PPN also runs training courses for member groups and shares information about funding, grants, consultations, and other relevant activities.
The new website is designed to offer the ultimate user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality. We hope that the information on our website will support community groups and all stakeholders involved. This website was funded through LEADER funding and the PPN wish to acknowledge the support of Tipperary LCDC and indeed the staff of the Development companies, in particular South Tipperary Development Company the lead proposer in the funding application. The development of this website would not have been possible without LEADER funding and the PPN would like to thank the staff who worked on this project for their support and professionalism during the application process.
As we move to the next phase of the Covid 19 crisis we recognise that now more than ever during these difficult times we have been sharing a lot of information with our members and the wider community. With this in mind we have partnered with the Tipperary County Council and the HSE and have added a new feature called “In this together hub” to our website.
This hub will allow all stakeholders/partners to share information in one place. Avril Wilson Tipperary PPN Coordinator said that “this fantastic new initiative will act as a one stop shop for all people in Tipperary to access resources and information that may help them, their families or community groups. We are delighted to work on this project together with the Local Authority and HSE and want to say particular thanks to the staff in the Community and Social Inclusion Section of Tipperary County Council for their support on the initiative”
The website created with user friendliness in mind has many new functions including the In This Together hub, a community youtube channel with videos and information, we also have a new members directory to allow easier searching of PPN members.
The new website will help to keep you informed with all the latest news for community groups displayed, which will allow people to be updated quickly when they visit the site.
The website gives information on grant opportunities for community and voluntary sector, upcoming training and details on events within the county. Community groups who register receive monthly newsletters outlining current grant, training and consultations, current and previous issues of our newsletters are available to view on our website. We encourage all members to share information, good news stories, events activities etc, with the PPN team and we will happily advertise them for you.
The PPN is there to inform, strengthen and empower community groups and the layout and functionality of the new website will support us to do this. Tipperary PPN facilitate the nomination process for representatives for various county structures and are the community voice on these structures. A list of all PPN representatives that sit on boards and committees throughout the County structure is available to view and we also have the current representative vacancies on display.
Speaking about the development of the website Avril Wilson said “ The website was made possible with LEADER funding and I would encourage community groups to approach both LEADER companies to see how they might be able to support your community group”. She also thanked the PPN admin team, PPN communications committee, Secretariat and Website Developer Mark O Leary of Irish Web HQ for their support and work on this project.
