Homegrown Tipperary company cleaning up!
Thurles based company, Ryans Cleaning is one of Ireland’s best examples of a successful family run business that is getting it right on the international scene. Through hard work and a commitment to quality, they have made their mark on the international entertainment and events circuit. This past weekend Ryans Cleaning cleaned for over 300,000 patrons at no less than eight major events at home and in the UK.
UK events included Leeds, Reading and Creamfields festivals as well as the Watford FC v West Ham Premier League fixture at Vicarage Road. Domestic events included the Ladies Football Semi-Finals at Croke Park, racing at The Curragh and Kilbeggan racecourses and top regional agricultural show in Dualla, Co. Tipperary. All the while their other focus will be on the lead up to this weekend’s All Ireland Senior Football Finals at Croke Park and of course Electric Picnic where they are also the chosen cleaning contractor for Festival Republic.
Leeds, Reading and Creamfields festivals alone had a combined attendance of over 240,000 on the busy Bank Holiday weekend across the pond, where Ryans Cleaning have made their name as the top cleaning contract providers for such entertainment events.
A remarkable 1,000 temporary operatives were employed by the Tipperary firm to fulfil these vast contracts while their full and part-time team of 50 employees usually based at their humble headquarters in Thurles, Co. Tipperary were dispersed to handle supervisory and management roles over the most important weekend in their festival calendar.
Ryans Cleaning have European ISO Standards of cleaning in place at all venues they service and the company is committed to the ‘Vision 20:20 Zero Waste to Landfill’ aim for all events across Ireland and the UK, a point very important to them as they carry out their work for promoters and venues on the international scene.
In several joint initiatives with waste partner providers, Ryans Cleaning work with providers and promoters to ensure the greatest sustainability efforts are in place and the absolute minimum waste will return to landfill at all events they service. A good example of this would be their zero waste to landfill commitment with Associated Waste Management (AWM) at Leeds Festival where the waste of 100,000 patrons was managed on-site, sorted and recycled at AWM’s nearby material recycling facility in Stourton, South Leeds.
Speaking of his commitment to sustainability when working with venues, organisers, promoters and waste management suppliers, Pat Ryan, CEO of Ryans Cleaning said “We’ve seen a change in public behaviour towards waste in recent years as a result of the increased focus on climate change and calls for positive action. Our commitment to quality cleaning and the supportive role we provide to all our clients is very much dependant on an emphasis on ensuring that we think green in all activities we roll out on-site from picking to sorting and recycling to working with our waste management partners to ensure the greatest possible energy recovery from all events.”
Ryans Cleaning are an exciting prospect on the international scene that is consistently expanding its portfolio annually with regular contracts and event style contracts across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.
