Ryans Cleaning’s new national contract appointment and fostering entrepreneurs in Tipperary

Ryans Cleaning are the contract cleaners at the new Curragh Racecourse which opened to the public for the first time over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The Thurles based company had been servicing the old track and temporary facilities last season before being awarded the major contract for the new racecourse development unveiled recently at a cost of €80 million.

The new Curragh consists of world-class facilities on a par with the best anywhere in the world. The centrepiece of the redevelopment is a major new grandstand which will incorporate five-star corporate facilities, restaurants, bars and superb viewing facilities. A new arrivals and reception area also incorporates a museum to celebrate the history of racing in Ireland and the contribution Ireland has made to the sport worldwide. The new weigh room provides even better facilities for the jockeys, while a completely refurbished stable yard will ensure that the real stars of the sport will also have first class facilities.

Speaking of their engagement at the new Curragh Racecourse, Elaine Ryan, Managing Director of Ryans Cleaning said “It is a very exciting weekend to have played a role in, the new facilities at The Curragh are without doubt incredible and the team at Ryans Cleaning are really looking forward to cleaning this exciting new build over the thrilling flat season ahead.”

Ryans Cleaning CEO, Pat Ryan has also been involved in two exciting new Tipperary business projects recently. The first involved sharing the Ryans Cleaning story of growth over the last 30 years in business, with particular emphasis on international expansion to inspire local businesses looking to break into emerging export markets. The business event titled “New Markets New Opportunities” was organised by the Tipperary Local Enterprise Office at The Anner Hotel in Thurles. Pat Ryan spoke of his journey in business from setting up Ryans Cleaning to the company now being one of the country’s biggest cleaning firms in the events and entertainment industry and how he developed that model and tapped into the UK market and mainland Europe.

Speaking at the enterprise event Pat Ryan said “It is great to see such positivity and energy behind business in Tipperary, I was just one of a superb panel of speakers at the event which was extremely well executed by the Tipperary Local Enterprise Office and I hope in some small way our story has inspired other Tipperary businesses to grow and develop new markets and new opportunities in the future.”

The second Tipperary enterprise project supported by Ryans Cleaning lately involved supporting five young entrepreneurs from St. Josephs Secondary School in Borrisoleigh. First-year girls Chloe Carroll, Aoife Fitzgerald, Phoebe Sage, Kate Ryan and Cara Fogarty set up a mini-company business called ‘Shucky Duckys’ and asked for support from local businesses and shops, hoping that they would get behind them and the girls went on to the County Final of the Student Enterprise Programme Tipperary Awards.
