The top five runners-up will each receive a €100 One4all Gift Card of their design which will also be available to purchase one4all.ie

Commenting on the launch Aoife Davey, Group Marketing Manager at One4all said: “The chance to have something you have designed printed on a product and distributed nationwide in every town in Ireland and sold online is huge for any budding designer to get on their portfolio. As a judge and someone that is very close to the One4all brand, I find it so interesting to see the variety of designs that come in and how the entrants go about responding to the brief. All the judges come from very different background design-wise so it’s always a difficult judging process!”

Judge Joe Caslin added: “It’s important to see One4all recognising emerging Irish based talent and giving these visual artists, designers and illustrators access to their retail network. This is a great opportunity for fledgling careers to be showcased on a national stage and I would encourage their interest and involvement!”

Last year’s winner of the 2016 ‘Design a Gift Card’ competition was Martha Hegarty, a Contemporary Art Theory and Criticism graduate student at University College Cork. Martha’s design, ‘Ready, Steady, Shop!’ was chosen from over 75 entries and was inspired by the emotions of excitement and delight felt upon receiving a gift.

Closing date for entries is 11th May 2017. For further information on how to enter the competition and specific guidelines visit www.one4all.ie/design.
