Tipperary Enterprise Week Kicks Off In Roscrea
Over the course of the week the Local Enterprise Office will hold 20 events at 13 Tipperary locations. Events scheduled include Funding Workshops, an Owner Manager Networking breakfast, Business Advice Clinics, Social Media Master Classes, Intellectual Property workshop, Business Skills training courses, County Enterprise Awards and the final of the Student Enterprise Programme. In addition the Local Enterprise Office will provide information stands at the Teagasc National Rural Networks Roadshow, Thurles, The Education & Employment Progression Fair, Templemore and the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town in Thurles.
Enterprise Week will commence on Monday morning (10-12) with a Funding Workshops at the Racket Hall Hotel, Roscrea. The workshop will be repeated in the Excel Theatre, Tipperary Town in the afternoon between 2.30 p.m. to 4.30p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear presentations from, and meet with all of the agencies charged with supporting enterprise start up and development in the County. The workshops are aimed at individuals considering self-employment as well as existing firms planning to expand or trade internationally. Agencies confirmed include Enterprise Ireland, InterTrade, Department of Social Protection, Revenue, North Tipperary Leader Partnership, South Tipperary Development Company, Microfinance and the Local Enterprise Office.
Individuals contemplating starting or expanding a business are advised to take advantage of the Business Advice Clinics taking place in Borrisokane, Newport, Cahir, Thurles, Killenaule and Cashel etc during Enterprise Week. Promoters you can avail of a confidential one to one session with a Business Advisor from the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and a Project Development Officer from North Tipperary LEADER Partnership (NTLP) or South Tipperary Development Company (STDC) to discuss funding opportunities, grant criteria etc. The Networking Breakfast in the Anner Hotel, Thurles on Wednesday, March 8, is a must for Owner/Managers. This event will feature a presentation from Blaise Brosnan, MRI, Wexford and an introduction to LEAN manufacturing techniques by Robert Hernan as well as case studies by Clodagh Cavanagh, Abbey Machinery and Michael Corbett, Emerald Oils. Other events taking place during the week include Social Media Masterclasses, aimed at tourism product providers, (Ballina & Cahir), Costing and Pricing your Product or Service, (Clonmel), Social Media and Trading Online Voucher Scheme (Carrick-on Suir), Protect your Intellectual Property Rights (Nenagh), Kickstarter, Nenagh, and the National Enterprise Awards – County Finals which will take place in Cashel on Thursday 9 March. Enterprise Week will conclude on Friday, 10 March with the Student Enterprise Programme taking place in LIT, Thurles and the Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town later that evening.
