Kieran Goss And Frances Black To Appear At Source On Their Reunion Tour

Following the success of their Grand Opera House, Belfast shows Frances Black and Kieran Goss have announced details for their Reunion Tour in 2017 and one of those shows will be at The Source Arts Centre. It’s been over 20 years since Frances Black and Kieran Goss last toured together. In the intervening years both artists have enjoyed huge international success in their respective solo careers, but it was the inspired pairing of these unique talents as a duo in the early ’90s that first caught the imagination of the Irish public.

Kieran Goss and Frances Black

Kieran Goss was born and raised in County Down, Northern Ireland. He was just nine years old when he got his first guitar. Growing up in a big family with diverse musical tastes meant that early on he was hearing the music of Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra and The Rolling Stones. These varied influences fermented into the brew that gives Kieran his own unique sound. While song writing has made Kieran Goss a star (Brand New Star, Reasons to Leave, Out of my Head), it’s live on stage where he truly shines. The Irish Times wrote of his last shows at the Opera House -“The sense of fun is tremendous, the playing first rate and the songs sheer quality. The encores were genuine, but only because the man is too.”

Frances Black was born in Dublin, and her parents Patty and Kevin were both very musical. Although she was a shy child, she began singing with her older siblings, Shay, Michael, Mary, and Martin, known as The Black Family, when she was 17. When Nanci Griffith called Frances Black “the sweetest voice of Ireland,” she was paying tribute to someone who has been one of Ireland’s best-loved and most enduring artists since the late 80s, with a string of best-selling albums, awards and other accolades behind her.

Now for the first time in Thurles, Frances Black and Kieran Goss reunite for this very special show at The Source Arts Centre, the second date on their nationwide tour.
