€86 Thousand In Grants For Tipperary Animal Welfare Projects – Mattie McGrath
Independent TD Mattie McGrath has said he is delighted to confirm that seven Animal Welfare Projects in County Tipperary have received grants ranging from €2000 to €40,000 to assist them with their work. Deputy McGrath was speaking after the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed TD, today announced funding awards of €2,460,500 to 137 animal welfare organisations throughout the country. The payments will be made with immediate effect:
“It is great to see the amazing work that is being carried out on a daily basis within the county being supported in this way.
PAWS Animal Rescue in Mullinahone received a substantial grant of €40,000 and I am sure they are delighted with that given the volume of work that the project is engaged in, while Roscrea SPCA, in Rosemount received €17,500.
The issue of animal welfare is something that many of us in rural Ireland care passionately about and we are determined that the highest standards of care continue to be maintained.
It is absolutely vital, as the Minister made clear in his remarks when announcing the grants, that the next generation of children grow up to respect the wildlife and animals that surround them.
The seven groups that have received the grants in Tipperary are to be applauded for successfully navigating the application process.
I certainly hope that more announcements of this kind will follow in 2017,” concluded Deputy McGrath.
