200 Seasonal Jobs announced for Carphone Warehouse and Currys PC World #JobFairy

Ireland’s leading electrical and telecommunications retailer Dixons Carphone, today announced that it will be recruiting 200 additional part-time jobs in its Carphone Warehouse and Currys PC World stores to cover the Christmas trading period.
Dixons Carphone currently has over 40 stores nationwide across its Carphone Warehouse and Currys PC World brands and employs 1,050 people.
Recruitment will commence immediately ahead of Black Friday, one of the busiest shopping days for retailers in the run up to Christmas. Last year Dixons Carphone reported a 50% increase in sales year-on-year on Black Friday and the group expects to exceed this figure this year.
Electrical goods are traditionally one of the most popular items purchased on Black Friday and last year the most popular items sold at Currys PC World included Smart TVs, laptops, coffee machines and tablets. At Carphone Warehouse the most popular items included smartphones such as the iPhone6 and the Samsung S6.
Commenting on this announcement Mark Delaney, managing director, Dixons Carphone said: “At Currys PC World and Carphone Warehouse we believe in connecting our customers with the right technology and products which will enhance their daily lives. We pride ourselves on our product knowledge and know-how which allows us to provide unrivalled advice to our customers. Gartner predicts that wearable devices will grow by 18.4 percent by the end of 2016 and we are expecting items such as the Fitbit Blaze and the GoPro Hero Session will be very popular this year.”
