Tipperary Athletes Finish Season In Style

The GloHealth National Masters Track & Field championships took place in Tullamore on 21st. Aug. last & our Tipperary athletes certainly did finish out their season in style.

Once again the highlight of the day was Templemore’s quartet of Johnny Doran, Adrian McGinley, Brian Murray & Kenny McDonald, as they took the 4x400m Relay title & set a new National record time of 3:45.11 to boot.

The Templemore A.C. team of Johnny Doran, Adrian McGinley, Brian Murray & Kenny McDonald, All Ireland Masters 4 x 400m Relay Winners in a new National Record of 3.45.11 at the GloHealth National Masters Track & Field Championships in Tullamore. Also in picture, Templemore’s Martin Leydon.

Pat Naughton (M80), Nenagh Olympic, (1st. in High Jump, Long Jump & Javelin and 3rd. in Shot Putt).

Peter Ryan (M45), Nenagh Olympic, (1st. in Shot & 1st. in 56Lbs Weight For Distance).

Noel Monteith (M70), Borrisokane, (1st. in Javelin, 3rd. in 28Lbs Weight For Distance & 4th. in Shot Putt).

Patrick Corcoran (M45), Tipperary Town, (2nd. Discus, 2nd. 56Lbs Weight For Distance & 3rd. in Javelin).

John Fitzgibbon, Thurles Croakes, (6th. 5000m).

Kevin Shortall, (M35), Templemore, (1st. in High Jump).

Adrian McGinley, (M35), Templemore, (2nd. inn 110m Hurdles & 4th. in High Jump).

Adrian Young, (M50), Templemore, (2nd. in Long Jump & 4th. in High Jump).
