Free and Cheap Things to do in Tipperary during National Heritage Week 2016

National Heritage Week 2016 takes place August 20-28, events are currently being organised around the country by almost 1000 heritage enthusiasts, with a great variety of events taking place here in our own county. The programme highlights the abundance of great work being carried out in communities to preserve and promote out natural, built and cultural heritage. Most of the events are free so that heritage can be accessed and appreciated by all. For nine action packed days, we celebrate not only heritage but community involvement and a deep connection between people and place.

.
This year’s theme is One Hundred Years of Heritage. In this our centenary year, what better time to celebrate the last 100 years of Ireland’s heritage: historical, archaeological, architectural and environmental.

.
National Heritage Week is part of a European Heritage Day programme of events. This is a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Union in which over forty countries participate each year.

There is something for everyone, so give it a go! Read all the events and things to do in Co Tipperary below that are free or cheap to do or download the brochure here Heritage Week 2016 – Tipperary
