John West Féile na nGael Was A Spectacular Success – McGrath
Independent TD Mattie McGrath has congratulated all those who organised and participated in the John West Féile na nGael which took place at various locations across Tipperary and Waterford over the weekend. Deputy McGrath went on to say that interest in the event exceeded all expectations this year and was greatly enjoyed by all who attended:
“We know that a core aim of Féile tournaments is to promote a philosophy whereby every player has the opportunity to participate and play in their respective Féile tournament at a level commensurate to their age, skills and strengths.
There was certainly plenty of evidence that that aim was achieved over the weekend.
The Féile demonstrated once again the vital role that community and voluntary organisations play as the life blood of rural and urban communities.
I want to offer my congratulations to all players who took part, such as Eimear Heffernan of Knockavilla who won the National Feile Skills competition in Abbotstown.
This is a huge achievement not only for Eimear but for all in Tipperary Camogie,” concluded Deputy McGrath.
