St Josephs College Borrisoleigh at SciFest in LIT Thurles

Our students took part in SciFest on Wednesday last 4th May, held in LIT Thurles Campus. Students from 2nd year, 3rd year and TY attended the competition to exhibit their projects and we were delighted to come away with some impressive awards. Catriona Ryan won a tablet for best question, Catriona and Michael Ryan won in their Junior Life Sciences category, Catriona also won an SFI discover prize, Antoinette Atik and Laura Hutchinson won in their Junior Life Sciences Category. In the top prizes we had had space award for Joseph O’Donoghue, Mark Kinane and Simon Humphries, with teacher Mary Gorey receiving ESSRO Best Teacher for Space Related Studies, Excellence in Maths and Science went to Nicky Cooney and Anthony Ryan, and finally the Intel Award for best Physics Science went to 3rd years Luke Cooney and Sean Dunne. Well done to everyone involved and massive thanks to Ms Gorey for all her help.
