New Marketing Plan for Munster Vales Tourism Destination

Munster Vales is a new tourism destination which will be developed as the key inland destination in Irelands Ancient East. Munster Vales extends from the Comeraghs to Ballyhoura incorporating the Galtees and the Knockmealdowns. It is supported by Failte Ireland, Waterford City & County Council, Tipperary and Cork County Councils, local development agencies and tourism entities.

The Board of Munster Vales is in the process of preparing a 3 Year Tourism Marketing Plan with a particular emphasis on developing a number of visitor experience bundles which will be market ready. To date three successful workshops have been held in Cahir, Bruff and Dungarvan with the support of over 160 tourism providers. A critical element in the process of developing the “market ready bundles” is this work with the tourism service providers and stakeholders, exploring opportunities for collaboration within the sector and thinking collectively about initiatives which will enable Munster Vales to fulfil its intention as the key inland destination in Irelands Ancient East.
The final Workshop and Networking Event where the highlights of the marketing plan will be presented will be held on Wednesday April 20th, with registration from 10am, in Hotel Minella, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. The workshop will conclude no later than 1:30pm and light refreshments will be served.

Sinead Carr, Chairperson, Munster Vales is urging tourism providers to grasp this opportunity, ‘Don’t miss out on this opportunity to participate as it will have direct benefits to you, your business and your area, your contribution is important. The workshop will be practical, purposeful and the main aim is to get Munster Vales Tourism Experience Bundles and Packages up and running. It will also give you the opportunity to continue planning and promoting for the 2016 season. As networking is a key activity on the morning, please bring your business cards and brochures (approx. 100). It is so important to get to know one another to create an opportunity for working together and / or to become familiar with the businesses in the Munster Vales for referrals and to increase visitor numbers and extend stays.’

This event is open to everyone in the Munster Vales area who has an interest in tourism. All are welcome to attend. Numbers are limited and registration in advance is essential. Please contact Brigid Dillon, Munster Vales Admin Support, indicating your intention to attend on or before Friday April 15th, with the name(s) of those who will be attending from your organisation or business to brigiddillon@stdc.ie.
