Community Party Grants Available to Communities #Belonging16

Communities all across Ireland can now avail of grants of €250 to hold a community party during 2016 through The Community Foundation. These community parties are all about belonging and should encourage members of your community to come together and celebrate belonging in your community. #Belonging16 is The Community Foundation’s grants strategy for 2016.

Grants will be given on a population by county basis. Co. Tipperary has an allocation of 14 grants available.

To apply or find out more information visit  The Community Foundation website

Communities can also tie in with the annual Street Feast to host their community party. This year’s Street Feast takes place on 12th June. Street Feast is a day of local lunches across Ireland, hosted by you and your neighbours. They can be anywhere really — out on the street, in a local park or in your front garden. There are lots of good reasons to have a Street Feast, but it’s really just a great excuse to eat great food, celebrate your local community and meet new people who live near you.

To find out more or to organise your own Street Feast visit http://streetfeast.ie/

Applications are also being invited from Tidy Towns/Community Groups, under the Tidy Towns Grant Scheme for projects/work carried out in 2016, which will enhance the appearance of the local area/ village/town. Closing date for applications is 9th March 2016. Click here for more info
