Leinster Junior Open
Sarah, Philip and Eoin O Connell were the Club representatives at the Leinster Junior Open in Dublin over the weekend. Played at 2 venues with a massive entry it turned into quite a marathon with the last match on Saturday evening coming off court at 9.10pm despite a 9 am start. When the dust settled on Sunday at 4 pmour best result was 3 rd place for Eoin in the boys u11 completion. He actually beat the no1 seed in round 2 and the eventual winner beat him in a really tough semi final. This represents a terrific result for Eoin as this was by far the best competition of the year with all our top juniors in attendance. Philip was unfortunate to meet a really fine English player in the first round and had to be content with a supporting role for a change. Sarah played well in all her games to finish 8 th overall
