MUNSTER CLUB FIXTURES
Sunday, November 29th, 2015 will forever more be synonymous with magnificent Clonmel Commercials who rewrote the history books and in turn defied all the perceived odds except their own to claim a maiden club and county AIB Munster Senior Football Championship Crown by defeating Nemo Rangers in the final by 1-07 to 09.
Many, many congratulations to Commercials who with their fifth Munster final appearance got the tremendous victory their efforts deserved. Michael Quinlivan was the hero of the hour where in fact Commercials had 19 heroes on the pitch and more waiting to put their shoulder to the wheel should they be required as jubilant manager Charlie McGeever and his backroom team plotted a masterful course of never say die attitude and spirit on the way to claiming the title.
This was by no means a fluke as the wonderful work being undertaken over many years by all previous Clonmel Commercials managers and mentors including backroom man Brian White paid rich dividends in laying the platform for Sunday’s superb success. Well done to each and everyone associated with the club, the great players and leaders of the past who dreamed of such a day, thankfully their prayers are finally answered as Clonmel Commercials take a richly deserved seat at the table of elite Munster club football.
Next up in two weeks’ time for Clonmel Commercials is a trip to London for the All-Ireland Club Senior Football Championship Quarter-Final where they will play Tir Chonaill Gaels (London) on the weekend of December 12 / 13 in Ruislip.
