Starring role for Rock of Cashel in Tourism Ireland’s new global advertising campaign

The Rock of Cashel will be highlighted in Tourism Ireland’s new 2016 ad campaign for Ireland’s Ancient East.

Tourism Ireland will kick off 2016 with the roll-out of a brand new online ad highlighting our latest tourism experience, Ireland’s Ancient East. The ad will launch in January, in the 23 markets in which Tourism Ireland has a presence – reaching millions of prospective holidaymakers worldwide. Filming for the ad took place this autumn – at the Rock of Cashel, as well as at Glendalough, Newgrange, Kilkenny Castle, Waterford City and Castletown House. As well as the online ad, a specially created Ireland’s Ancient East page will feature on Tourism Ireland’s international website, Ireland.com, which has attracted about 16.5 million visitors this year; and social media will also help to spread the word about this part of Ireland.

Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: “Following a successful 2015, ambitious targets have been set again for 2016, which will see Ireland welcome 8.2 million visitors, representing growth of +4% over 2015. Early next year, we will unveil our Ireland’s Ancient East campaign around the world, which will play an important part in our extensive overseas marketing programme for 2016.”
