Tipperary Excel Arts Centre Diary Dates

The Tipperary Excel Team and Board continues to  create and deliver s a comprehensive arts and cultural programme and calendar of events, which is kindly supported by Tipperary County Council and the Arts Council of Ireland. This programme  includes  activities of Tipperary Dance Residency / Iseli-Chiodi Dance Company. This in- house contemporary dance residency, which is hosted by the Tipperary Excel is artistically recognised both Nationally & Internationally for its development and promotion of contemporary dance by its curators, Alexandra Iseli and Jazmin Chiodi. Tipperary Excel  continually strives to host pieces which will enhance its artistic and cultural programme. With this in mind, the board and staff would welcome any  suggestions from You – The Audience as to what You would like to See Coming to the  Simon Ryan Theatre and Tipperary Excel. We could like to acknowledge the support and funding Tipperary Excel receives from the Arts Council of Ireland in relation to developing and hosting its annual Programme of Events. In addition, Tipperary Excel host a number of Community based Evening Classes,including Ballet, Creative writing, Mindfulness, Pilates, Salsa Dancing, Slimming and Yoga. For information on the suite of classes call the Tipperary Excel on 062 80520.

Ø 9th Tipperary Film Club screens Girlhood, a 2014 French drama film which  discusses & challenges conceptions of race, gender and class

Ø 12th Tipperary Excel Cinema hosts The Polar Express, Pajama Party, Wear Your PJ,s Watch the Movie, Drink Hot Chocolate! 7pm  

Ø   20th  A Celebration of Christmas, Evening of traditional carols, hymns and festive songs hosted by Friends of the Simon Ryan Theatre andTipperary Musical  Society. Mince Pie and Mulled Wine Reception 7pm,  Curtains up 8m. Tickets on sale soon

 January 2016

Ø  13th 16th Tipperary Pantomime  Society presents Cinderella,  the classic children’s pantomime. Times and ticket prices to be confirmed

Ø  22nd – 23rd   The Forge Players, Ballyglass will perform its 2016 production, details of which will be announced in due course

February 2016

Ø  22nd – 27th Tipperary Musical Society’s present the much loved“Evita”  Times and ticket prices to be announced shortly

Ø 27th   Shakespeare in the Glen and Tipperary Excel presentTeacher’s Saturday Performance Strategies for Accessing Shakespeare Workshop. To register for this  FREE Workshop, message Shakespeare in the Glen facebook  page. Limited registration.

March 2016

 Ø  2rd – 3rd Monastery School will present it’ annual show, details of  which will be announced in due course

Ø 5th   “Austen’s Women”  A portrayal of a gallery of Jane Austen’s much loved  and most celebrated female characters. Details to follow

Ø  11th & 12th Eadarainn Theatre Company and Tipperary Excelwill  present the late Brian Friel’s Translations*

Ø 11th & 12th  Emma O’Sullivan, Ireland’s leading Sean-Nós dancer  will give a display of Sean­-nós  Dancing as a Translations  pre-show

Ø  12th  Emma O’ Sullivan will present a Sean-nós  Dance Workshop  in association with local musicians, further details to be confirmed.
