Celebrate Local This Christmas in Cloughjordan

As we head into Advent, it’s time to get serious about preparations for Christmas.  Luckily, in the village of Cloughjordan we’ve got everything covered for you, from festive food to gorgeous gifts and evenings of entertainment!

Celebrate Local This Christmas in Cloughjordan Launch into the Christmas Spirit with us on Saturday 28th November at 6pm as we Light Up Cloughjordan.  Brave local lad Billy Goulding and his sister Rachel will be turning on our new Christmas lights, with a little help from hurling hero Ray McLoughney, our MC for the evening.  There will be even more sparkle with a fire-twirling show, live music and singing, and not one but two Christmas markets to explore.  Enjoy some traditional Austrian treats and sip a cup of mulled wine as you browse through local crafts, works of art, artisan foods, clothes and more.

If you can’t find all the goodies you need at the markets, have no fear… local shops will be staying open late so you can stock the cupboards with delicious food, wines and confectionery at Austin’s Centra or  visit Murphy’s Stores to pick up toys for the kids or something special from their wide range of electrical goods.

Doing your Christmas shopping locally doesn’t just help local businesses, it takes the strain off you too.  No long drives, no big crowds and boring queues and no petrol or parking costs, so you can afford to treat yourself!  Why not relax after all the fun with a delicious, affordable family dinner at the Gourmet Gallery on Main Street? And if you can, round off the evening with a visit to one of our local bars to catch some great live music?

For more details of all the good things going on, follow us at our Celebrate Local Facebook page to make sure you don’t miss out.  We can’t wait to see you on November 28th… come early, stay late and celebrate!
