Tipperary Green Businesses Networking Event
Tipperary Green Business Network (TGBN) hosted a networking event in the Anner Hotel, Thurles on Wednesday, 7th October. The theme of the evening was ‘Tell us about your Business’ and members of TGBN were joined by a number of other businesses and organisations in the county for the event.
Following a presentation on Social Media Strategy for Business by Antoinette O’Dowd, of Hive Media, Thurles, those attending gave an elevator pitch for their business to the group.
Dermot Fitzgerald, MD of Boru Stoves in Thurles, closed the event with a presentation on Boru Stoves, telling the group how the successful stove manufacturing business developed and thrived during the recession to a stage where it now has close to one hundred employees and has a thriving export market.
Tipperary Green Business Network was established in 2011, to support green businesses in the county to help them market their products and services, harness the job creation potential of the emerging green economy, with the ultimate aim of make Tipperary one of Ireland’s greenest counties. Members of the network come from a variety of businesses under four broad pillars, Building & Energy, Food and Agriculture, Tourism and o other green services including Consultancy and those involved in the Craft Sector. As well as networking events, they provide training for members and others, host workshops and seminars and organise field trips.
