Tipperary Chamber Survey Shows Renewed Positivity
The latest County Tipperary Chamber Quarterly Economic Survey results, published today, show a local economy turning around. These results show that 56% of businesses surveyed reported an increase in sales activity in the months June to September compared to the quarter beforehand.Speaking at the launch of the survey results, Chamber CEO Brian Cleary said “This survey shows a renewed increase in business confidence in County Tipperary. Recent job announcements in Amneal (Cashel), Eishtec (Clonmel), Premier Green Energy (Thurles), and Wood Energy Solutions (Cahir) coupled with extensive developments at ABP (Cahir) have boosted sentiment in the county.
The results of this survey also show a move by business owners to make themselves ready for the anticipated upturn in the economy. Increases in workforces, anticipated increases in profitability and plans to invest in their businesses all point to an economy that is poised to exploit economic developments”.
The increase in the number of new jobs being announced is an issue that the Chamber has spent a considerable amount of time working on in recent times. The organisation, as a registered lobbying group, has met with Oireachtas deputies and senior civil servants to discuss the issue and to lobby on behalf of the county.
