Tipperary businesses encouraged to participate in EXIM Summit Export-Import Conference
Tipperary businesses who are trading beyond Ireland are encouraged to attend and participate in the EXIM Summit, Ireland’s Export and Import Conference, taking place in Croke Park, Dublin on November 18.
The EXIM Summit, which is led by Tipperary-born businesswoman Elaine Carroll and her business partner Kapil Khanna, will feature a series of Irish and international global trade experts and thought leaders at the one-day conference.
Speakers will address the current growth in the export-import sector, sharing knowledge about emerging markets, pitfalls to avoid and what the future holds for Irish exporters and importers.
Elaine Carroll, Programme Director of EXIM, said that given that Exports/Imports were regarded as the driving force behind the economy’s recovery, and with strong growth levels forecast for 2016, there was a huge demand for such an event.
“Now is the time to acknowledge the contribution of Irish exporters and importers to the continued growth in the economy. EXIM Summit will give those progressive individuals and companies an opportunity to connect and network, to learn from leading experts and to capitalise on new opportunities,” she added.
The conference will also feature an expo, workshops, meet the buyer sessions and networking opportunities and is targeted at export and import professionals, globally recognised companies, support organisations, entrepreneurs and investors and industry association representatives.
FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, is the headline sponsor of the EXIM Summit.
“Small to medium sized businesses (SMEs) are a driving force in improving the economy and it is encouraging to see increasing numbers of SMEs recognising the value of exports and as a result more are going global,” said David Canavan, Senior Vice President Operations Europe, FedEx Express.
“There is a real sense of positivity and they understand there’s a whole world of customers out there to tap into. We’re delighted to sponsor the EXIM Summit and want to help harness this enthusiasm and provide Irish entrepreneurs with increased confidence and guidance to succeed internationally.”
Ulster Bank is the exclusive banking sponsor of the EXIM Summit.
Eddie Cullen, Managing Director of Commercial Banking RI at Ulster Bank said: “We are delighted with the opportunity to sponsor the EXIM summit and to play our part in helping businesses deliver on their international ambitions”.
“Taking your business across international borders can put a strain on your cash flow and expose your business to new risks. In response to these challenges Ulster Bank has recently launched a compelling international proposition to help our customer’s trade internationally with greater efficiency, security and ultimately, peace of mind”.
“Additionally, as part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, we can provide our customers with access to local connections across the UK and internationally through our extensive correspondent banking network”.
“We are also the only Irish bank with full membership of the international banking association, IBOS (International Bank, One Solution). This membership connects our customers with our partners in IBOS with the aim of providing the service you would expect from Ulster Bank, but delivered by a local bank within their chosen markets.”
