Tipperary Dance Platform – An International Dance Festival in the southeast

Tipperary Dance Platform is a cutting edge international contemporary dance festival dedicated to be a festive event for the community and a celebration for dance in County Tipperary. The Platform also creates resources for professional companies and dancers from Ireland and abroad. TDP stages work made by Irish-based artists, and introduces works from Artists from other countries who, in most cases, perform in Ireland for the first time.

For the first time in Ireland, and in collaboration with The Source Arts Centre, the festival is proud to present award winning choreographer Daniel Abreu, one of Spain’s most admired dance artists, and his vibrant solo Cabeza.

Madrid-based Daniel Abreu Company was created in 2004 and has presented more than 40 choreographic works. Its director, choreographer and dancer Daniel Abreu, has received a number of prices such as the National Award for Dance in 2014. The company’s pieces are similar to journeys, paintings and images in action. His works have been presented in Asia, America, Asia and Africa. Daniel is regularly invited to teach workshops and courses for students, as well as for dance and theatre companies. Tickets for the exciting debut performance of Cabeza at The Source Arts Centre Thurles are now on sale.
