Deadline Approaching For The Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme

Under the 2015 Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme, eligible homeowners in Tipperary can get their homes insulated before the end of October for a fee of €79. Paul Kenny, CEO of Tipperary Energy Agency said “If you know someone that it is receipt of the Fuel Allowance or the Family Income Supplement, please let them know that they may be eligible to get their house insulated in time for winter. We want to help vulnerable people stay warm and live in healthier homes. It’s just a matter of completing the application form and getting it stamped by your local social welfare office. We’re looking to get applications in as soon as possible to get the works completed by the end of October”.


The following is included in this scheme: attic insulation, cavity wall insulation, ventilation, draft proofing measures of windows and doors, energy efficient bulbs, an energy monitor, plus a BER Certificate. The average value of the works is €3,400.


Homeowners in receipt of the following are eligible for this package – Fuel Allowance, Job Seekers Allowance for over six months and has children under 7 years of age or the Family Income Supplement (FIS). Proof of receipt of any of the above payments, which can be obtained from your social welfare office is required to apply for the scheme.

The Tipperary Warmer Homes Scheme is run by Tipperary Energy Agency and is supported by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and SSE Airtricity. The main contractor for the work is Leetherm, based in Fethard, Co Tipperary.
