Nenagh Arts Centre presents To Kill a Mockingbird, based on the best-selling novel by Harper Lee. To Kill a Mockingbird, set in a small Alabama town in the 1930’s, focuses on attorney Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) and his efforts to defend a black man (Brock Peters) who is being falsely charged with the rape of a white woman. The trial and the happenings surrounding it are seen through the eyes of Finch’s six year old daughter Scout.

To Kill A Mockingbird At Nenagh Arts CentreTo Kill a Mockingbird was published in 1960 and remained on the bestsellers list for over 40 weeks. In 1961, Harper Lee was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction.

To Kill a Mockingbird won Academy Awards for Best Actor (Gregory Peck), Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Art Direction and received nominations for Best Picture, Best Actress in a Supporting Role and Best Director
