Plenty of medals for Tipperary at National Masters Indoor Athletics Championships

The National Masters Indoor Athletics Championships took place in Athlone on Sun 15th. March last.
A small number of athletes represented Tipperary on the day, with Templemore AC once again
having the largest Tipperary representation.

Pat Naughton of Nenagh Olympic AC added another four Gold medals to his previous 273 National
medals accumulated to date during his illustrious athletic career. In winning the Shot Putt, Pat also set
a new National Record.
To top the day, Pat was presented with a lifetime achievement award, by athletics Ireland. This award has also been won in the past by such names as Eamon Coughlan & Marcus O’Sullivan, to name but a few.

Peter Ryan, Nenagh Olympic (1st. Shot & 2nd. 56Lbs weight For Distance)
Bernard O’Neill, Clonmel (2nd. Long Jump – M65)
Pat Naughton, Nenagh Olympic (1st. Shot, 1st. High Jump, 1st. Long Jump, 1st. 60m – M80).
