Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Devil’s Bit Macra na Feirme.

  • National Welding Final: In Early December Donie Fitzpatrick represented both Devil’s Bit and North Tipperary Macra na Feirme in the National Finals of the Welding competition. He represented both clubs very well and was placed fourth overall. Well done Donie.
  • Soccer: During December and January Devil’s Bit took part in two North Tipperary Macra  na Feirme rounds of Indoor Soccer which were held in Borrisoleigh and Nenagh.  Devil’s bit were represented very well on both occasions with three teams (two men’s teams and one ladies team) taking part in Borrisoleigh and one team taking part in Neangh. In the final of the men’s competition a team from Devil’s Bit faced the team from Nenagh. After a very close final which went to a penalty shootout Devil’s Bit were narrowly beaten by Nenagh. In the ladies competition the team from Devil’s Bit were also beaten by the ladies team from Nenagh. Well done also to teams from Ballinahinch, Clodagh and Newport who also took part in the competition. Best of luck to Nenagh who now go forward to the national finals on March 1st.
  • Church Gate Collection: In early January Devil’s Bit Macra took part in a church gate collection in aid of Epilepsy Ireland. This took place in both Templemore and Killea churches at both Saturday evening and Sunday morning masses. Many of our members volunteered to help over the weekend. Thanks to all of our members who helped over the weekend and to everyone who gave so generously.
  • Games Night: Our weekly games night returned after the Christmas break in early January. This continues to be a great success with many of our members enjoying the weekly event. New members are always welcome and are invited to attend games night any Wednesday night in Clonmore Community Centre at 8.30pm.
  • Club Meeting: Our next club meeting takes place in Clonmore Community Centre on Friday 6th February at 9pm. Hope to see all our members there. New members are also always welcome.
