Morris congratulates the North Tipperary Emerging talent programme after 7th International call up

Statement by Cllr. Séamie Morris

Morris congratulates the North Tipperary Emerging talent programme after the latest International player Chloe Connolly of Nenagh A F C made it 7 international players that have come through the programme in its short time in existence. The emerging talent programme has seen the standards of soccer in North Tipperary improve under the guidance of Development Officer James Scott. North Tipperary languished 32 out of 32  in the country in terms of its level of competitiveness where now it is competing for trophies along with Leagues from Dublin and Cork . This is all down to the dedication of the Emerging talent coaches under the guidance of James Scott and also the buy in from the clubs of North Tipperary who have sent coaches from their clubs to learn the art of Modern Football which has seen the type of football played transformed from kick and rush to the skill based football now seen on our Television screens every weekend. It has also seen players being prepared in their home environment for International , National League and also overseas trials . The seven international players 2 Girls and 5 boys are a true reflection on the hard work being carried out with more to come. I am delighted that I have ensured that the two development officers in Tipperary have their wages part funded by Tipperary county council carrying on the tradition of North Tipperary county council and South Tipperary county council.
