Chrissie and Josh Go Climbing Again

It was a great day for mountain climbing great-grandmother  Chrissie O’Meara, Bohernamona Road, Thurles and her great-grandson, Josh Hackett, Upperchurch when as part of the annual Autumn Charity Challenge, in Westport, they not only climbed Ireland’s Holy Mountain, they also completed the entire Croagh Mountain Ridge from end to end  in a time of 6 hours. Josh and Chrissie have already climbed Mount Brandon together while raising funds for the hospice movement and now have plans to climb Carrauntoohil together for charity next spring. In the meantime all  comers are IMG_0134welcome to join in for the Charity Challenge event re-union. This will take place In Upperchurch on Friday, October 31, starting with a Halloween walk by moonlight which is open to all  and leaves from outside Upperchurch community centre at 7pm. Afterwards cheques from the proceeds of the Westport weekend will be presented to worthy causes in Kinnanes pub, Upperchurch Village.
