Calling all students in Tipperary – The Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards are now open for entries!

Calling all students Tipperary Are you a star performer? A creative costumier or super script writer? If so, Bord Gáis Energy is delighted to announce that the Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards are now open for entries.

Open to primary school students from 3rd – 6th class and all students in secondary school, the awards have been set up by Bord Gáis Energy to recognise and reward participation in drama in schools across Ireland.  There are 11 categories to choose from including best performance in a leading role, best director, best musical, and best set design.

Evanna LynchThe deadline for entries is 12th January 2015 and shortlisted schools will be invited to a special awards ceremony at The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on Wednesday 4thMarch 2015. Selected schools will have the opportunity to perform on stage and the winning schools will share a prize fund of up to €10,000.

Harry Potter star Evanna Lynch who is the ambassador for this year’s awards will be one of the judges and is looking forward to getting involved.

“As a young actress, I first became interested in acting at school and I would have loved to have taken part in something like this when I was a student. I am really looking forward to judging the awards early next year and would like to wish everyone taking part in Tipperary the very best of luck.”

To enter, simply download an entry form to go with your submission from the website. Completed entry forms should be sent to  or by post to The Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards, Real Youth, Fumbally Court, Fumbally Lane, Dublin 8.
