All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final
Tipperary will play Kilkenny in the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final on Sunday September 7th at 3:30pm in Croke Park. Fergal Horgan of Tipperary will officiate in the minor game between Kilkenny v Limerick. Fergal is a member of the Knockavilla Kickhams club and won an All-Ireland MHC medal with Tipperary in 1996. His umpires on the day will be David Heelan, Alan Horgan, Paul Ryan and John Hadnett (all Knockavilla Kickhams). Wicklow’s John Keenan will be the standby referee, the other linesman is Eamonn Hassan (Derry) and the sideline official will be James Clarke (Cavan).
Barry Kelly has been confirmed as the referee for the All-Ireland SHC final between Kilkenny and Tipperary. This will be Kelly’s fourth senior assignment, having previously taken charge of the 2012 drawn final between Kilkenny and Galway, the 2008 final between Kilkenny and Waterford and 2006 final between Kilkenny and Cork. Kelly’s umpires on the day will be Séamus O’Brien, Michael Coyle (both St. Oliver Plunkett’s), Paddy Walsh (Clonkill) and Paul Reville (Turin). Offaly’s Brian Gavin will be the standby referee. The other linesman is Colm Lyons (Cork) and the sideline official will be Cathal McAllsiter (Cork).
We wish the Tipperary players, management and back-room team the very best of luck on Sunday and hopefully the Liam MacCarthy Cup will be back in Thurles next Monday evening.

The senior management team, players and the County Board would like to thank everyone for their support during the year and especially over the last number of weeks which has been fantastic.
Turn the County into Blue & Gold
We appeal to all shops and businesses in our towns and to all homes in the county in the lead up to the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final with Kilkenny to put up Tipperary flags, bunting or banners and to turn the county into Blue and Gold for this great occasion.

Tipperary will also be well represented in the musical stages by Louise Morrissey, and traditional music sensations Ceol Trad who are set to have the audience and team dancing all the way to Croke Park. If that wasn’t enough, legendry duo Foster and Allen are lined up. Mick Foster has strong links with Tipperary hurling. Kilmacud Crokes All-Ireland Hurling Sevens
The One Direct All-Ireland Hurling Sevens, organised by Kilmacud Crokes G.A.A. Club and sponsored by One Direct, was officially launched in Croke Park on Tuesday 26th August. In existence since 1973, and almost as old as the All-Ireland club championship itself, the Sevens has been graced by the greatest players and teams hurling has known. D.J. Carey, Jamesie O’Connor, Diarmuid O’Sullivan, John Leahy, Donal Og Cusack, Eoin Kelly and Joe Canning are just a few of the All-Star recipients and All-Ireland winners that have taken part in this tournament. Proud club sides from all over the country, including Borrisoleigh (Tipperary), Young Irelands (Kilkenny), Portumna (Galway), and last year, Ballyboden St Endas (Dublin) have all claimed the One Direct Cup, one of the most coveted prizes in club hurling. The Sevens form of the game emphasises accurate striking, maintenance of possession and clinical score-taking. Sevens games are invariably high scoring and physically tough encounters where fitness touch and speed are crucial to success. One thing is guaranteed, the latter stages of this tournament will be contested as fiercely as any county championship final. In addition to the main Cup tournament a Shield Competition is also run, catering for teams from the non-traditional hurling counties. There is also an U13 11-a-side event that never fails to produce some glorious hurling from the stars of tomorrow. In all, Kilmacud Crokes will play host to 64 teams and a total of 96 games will be played on the day.
